Just like playing an instrument :o

So, in polytonia, you must hit all the notes with right timing to finish melodies progressing to build the final song.

I just realized now that this is surprisingly similar to learning a real instrument. I noticed from friends playing the game that they needed to the more difficult melodies over and over again, learning it better and better each time as it gets into the muscle memory. And just like when practicing a real instrument they would pend between periods of getting most notes right and periods of failing a lot.

If you’re not convinced, just try to play the game one more time after you finally pass it for the first time. You’ll be surprised at how much easier it is. That’s your muscle memory, and it will get stronger over time. And even more, try playing it again a few days later and you’ll notice you forgot it slightly, but repeat it a few times and you’ll remember it all again. For a much longer time. This is the essence of learning, and I was surprised to see it right here in my ludum dare entry.
