Does anyone know a good way to create animated .gif’s from stuff on your desktop in Windows 8?

Because I don’t have the first idea. I wanted to display the freakin’ first animation I’ve ever made in my life here but FRAPs refuses to do any capture of my desktop.

I just wanna capture an animation running in Game Maker Studio as an animated .gif file. Is there any way to do this? Doing a Google search brings up a bunch of spyware, adware garbage that doesn’t even look like it could do the job.

Thanks a bunch,

ohh you want a screencap, too. If you have Quicktime, that’ll do it, otherwise, I don’t know

There’s a freeware program on the Game Maker Studio website called TilesetMaker; it lets you export .gif files. I don’t think it’s superior feature-wise to something like GIMP, but I’m just used to the layout and have bee using it for years.
