When your game’s resource folder gets corrupted…
So, Windows 10 decided to do one of its random restarts, ultimately corrupting all of my game’s images in the procress.
I’m so glad that eclipse kept a temporary backup, otherwise I’d have been screwed. There’d be no way I could recreate all of those textures (and levels, as they are generated from an image) and still be able to add in all the features I need for a “complete” game before the Jam comes to a close.
Needless to say, I’ll be keeping a backup every few minutes from now on. Keep going everyone!
Also, if anyone knows how to stop Windows 10 from doing random reboots, I’d love to know. It happens too often to me (around once every one or two weeks) with no warning.

I think in the Anniversary update, there’s something called “Active Time” or something like that, where you tell Windows when you’re using the computer the most, and tell it not to reboot under any automated circumstances. I’m not sure if that’s 100% accurate, but from what I remember, that’s basically it.

You can get a program called Winaero Tweaker that has a feature where it asks you before restarting. I have not been forced to restart once and still am not on the anniversary update.
