I’m in!

This will be my first time actually making a game, should be fun :)

I’ll be using RPG Maker XP and, depending on the theme, I might be borrowing some tile sets or sprites that I find online. I realize this means that I’ll need to do the Jam instead of the Compo, but I think I’m going to try and do it in 48 hours anyway.

Any suggestions for a first timer?

1. Worry about game mechanics and how that all works FIRST, then work on a story, plot, etc.

2. SAVE OFTEN

3. Do work in chunks. It’s easier to find bugs that way.

4. Sleep, eat, and drink healthy things. Just going straight through is very rarely worth it.

5. When you find things online, make sure you aren’t using copyrighted things.

6. Take pride in your work. It’s a challenge, and any work (regardless of whether you’ve finished or not) is always the start of something fresh and new.
