The first one was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the 10 seconds theme. I never created a game besides any game jams, mostly because of my bad time management. For me Ludum Dare is a great way to get experience in game development and just do something else then SharePoint development …

So about the tool I will use:

Visual Studio 2012

XNA/MonoGame or Unity – not sure what to use …

Paint.NET

My last Ludum Dare submission was created with MonoGame and we faced some major problems with it. Like a missing mp3 decoder – so we had to use 16 bit uncompressed .wav files, a huge problem with ATI graphic devices, shader problems and so on. But C# is the language I like the most and I never really worked with Unity – maybe a great chance to do so? At least I am sure to participate and even got a vacation day from my company for Ludum Dare.

After the first Ludum Dare I have to admit that I really would love to see that a lot more people provide their source to their entries. That’s something I really missed.

I am pretty sad about the fact that the people I worked that last time with aren’t going to join me this time. Just because it’s way more fun in a Team! Anyone still looking for someone? 😛

Tags: LD28

December 10th, 2013 3:02 am
Ludum Dare again!"}
