Ludum Dare 27 – Oculus Rift

Skipped a couple LD’s, but I’m back for #27!

This time I’ll be using Unity which I’ve never used before, but I’m following the Unity StarFox tutorial by PushyPixels to get a grasp on it.

The game I create will be built for the Oculus Rift. I don’t know what the theme is yet, but hopefully it will be accommodating for this platform. I may also be using the Razor Hydra, however, for each peripheral I use, less people can play the game (how many people have both a rift and hydras?).

List of tools:

  1. Unity – for glue.
  2. Blender – for modelling.
  3. Photoshop – for textures.
  4. sfxr, piano, FL studio – for sounds.

Did you know Oculus is hosting their own game competition, with a prize of 50,000 dollars? I think it would be pretty cool to see all the entries. I’m glad that these Quick-Make-A-Game comps are spreading. Anyways, Good Luck!
