{"author_name":"maffydub","cat":"LD #36","comments":[],"epoch":1472340660,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"4170","p_author":"maffydub","p_authorkey":"36549","p_urlkey":"39623","p_title":"Golems!","p_cat":"LD #36","p_event":"LD36","p_time":"1472340660","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"36549","us_name":"maffydub","us_username":"maffydub","event_start":"1472169600","event_key":"35","event_name":"LD36"},"text":"<p>I&#8217;m not sure golems are actually &#8220;technology&#8221; but I have one modelled, animated and exported into <a href=\"http:\/\/threejs.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">three.js<\/a>.<\/p>\n <p><img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-575356\" src=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/golems-550x283.png\" alt=\"golems\" width=\"550\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/golems-300x154.png 300w, http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/golems-550x283.png 550w, http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/golems.png 650w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n <p>I&#8217;ve had a few challenges.<\/p>\n <ul>\n <li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blender.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Blender<\/a>\u00a0three.js\u00a0exporter doesn&#8217;t seem to want to export multiple animations, so I had to do multiple exports and merge\u00a0the (JSON) export files together manually.<\/li>\n <li>I thought it would be interesting to try <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scala-js.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Scala.js<\/a> (having not written any Scala before), so it&#8217;s been a learning experience!<\/li>\n <li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/antonkulaga\/threejs-facade\/\" target=\"_blank\">three.js bindings for Scala.js<\/a> don&#8217;t support skeletal animation, so I had to enhance them.<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n <p>My progress so far is up at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/matt-williams.github.io\/ld36\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/matt-williams.github.io\/ld36\/<\/a> &#8211; no gameplay yet, though!<\/p>","time":"August 27th, 2016 6:31 pm","title":"Golems!"}
