Depending on what’s happening this weekend.  Guess I’ll give it a go.  I’ll be using a really simple 2d overhead engine I made as a prototyping tool in SwiftForth (on top of a bunch of other proprietary code) a couple months ago.   It relies on Allegro5/OpenGL.  Platform: Windows 8 (and hopefully below.)

Alternatively, depending on how coding goes the next couple days, I’ll make an NES ROM.  (It’s a somewhat nebulous adventure game I haven’t even formally announced anywhere but the nesdev forums … what the prototyping tool was originally intended to catalyze but I ended up just prototyping directly in 8-bit.)

So yeah either way it’ll be overhead.
