{"author_name":"jurnacsr","cat":"LD #27","comments":[],"epoch":1376835360,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"41978","p_author":"jurnacsr","p_authorkey":"16532","p_urlkey":"77601","p_title":"Warmup Weekend 8\/17 \u2013 qShooter","p_cat":"LD #27","p_event":"LD27","p_time":"1376835360","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"16532","us_name":"jurnacsr","us_username":"jurnacsr","event_start":"1377216000","event_key":"18","event_name":"LD27"},"text":"<p>Good afternoon everyone! \u00a0As always I am very excited for the upcoming Ludum Dare #27 and the new challenges and games it brings! \u00a0I haven&#8217;t been doing much development over the past few weeks. \u00a0Work has been demanding, with a large project just being deployed and putting out the fires that follow. \u00a0With that in the rear-view mirror it was time to get back to it!<\/p>\n <p>I decided to participate in the Warmup Weekend to brush up on my skills and try some new things. \u00a0I&#8217;ve always wanted to set up some sort of &#8216;radar&#8217; system to track enemies, as well as a particle system. \u00a0With my game, qShooter (for Quick Shooter), I was able to implement both of those things with great effect.<\/p>\n <p>Play game: <a href=\"http:\/\/srjurnack.net\/qShooter\/\">qShooter<\/a><\/p>\n <p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/2013\/08\/18\/warmup-weekend-817-qshooter\/qshooter-screen-1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-266792\"><img class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-266792\" alt=\"qShooter screen 1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/qShooter-screen-1-300x240.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/qShooter-screen-1-300x240.png 300w, http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/qShooter-screen-1-550x440.png 550w, http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/qShooter-screen-1.png 706w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n <p>qShooter is a top-down shooter that has you combating large waves of enemy missiles that are trying to destroy your space station. \u00a0You must survive for as long as possible, until your space station is destroyed. \u00a0Missiles can be tracked with the red dots on the screen. \u00a0Enemy missiles also detonate in a massive shower of particles, something I had never done before.<\/p>\n <p>Making qShooter was a fun little 2 day distraction. \u00a0I put around 8 hours of work into it, using assets from OpenGameArt, as well as a Google image search for Space Station.<\/p>","time":"August 18th, 2013 9:16 am","title":"Warmup Weekend 8\/17 \u2013 qShooter"}
