From the friendly Ludum\u00a0enthusiasts,\u00a0how well the honor system functions, the energy it takes to push on without a break, to the value of just pushing on when you start to doubt your original concept.\u00a0Just having a finished game is such a great feeling.<\/span><\/p>\n <p><img class=\"wp-image-252442 alignright\" style=\"margin: 0px 10px\" alt=\"Steve And Pie\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/pie.png\" width=\"240\" height=\"166\" \/><\/p>\n <p><strong style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 19px\"><span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 19px\">Things that worked for me:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n <ul>\n <li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 12.997159004211426px\">Finished ideas, storyline and assets first probably saved me a lot of stressing. Clear goals are great!<\/span><\/li>\n <li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 19px\">Coding a warmup game saved me a lot of api documentation browsing.<\/span><\/li>\n <li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 19px\">Embracing the theme in a way that works for me made it fun and interesting. I think the game still honors the theme in it&#8217;s own way.<\/span><\/li>\n <li><span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 19px\">Preparing a timelapse for posterity sake. Setting up Chronolapse only took a couple of minutes and the video looks great (Blogging it later, check my <\/span><a style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 19px\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=22396\">review page<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 19px\"> for a preview).<\/span><\/li>\n <\/ul>\n <p><img class=\"size-full wp-image-252445 alignright\" style=\"line-height: 12.997159004211426px\" alt=\"Steve Is Violent\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/combat.png\" width=\"120\" height=\"90\" \/><\/p>\n <p><strong>Things I wish I knew before I started:<\/strong><\/p>\n <ul>\n <li><span style=\"line-height: 12.997159004211426px\">Post-Ludum, you&#8217;re not done! Keep your energy up for the day after to promote your release (screenshots), rate games, blogging, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n <li>The submission hour.
