{"author_name":"alphasix","cat":"LD #26","comments":[],"epoch":1367281020,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"43095","p_author":"alphasix","p_authorkey":"0","p_urlkey":"78730","p_title":"TimeVOID [tech demo] \u2013 part of the LD26 game jam","p_cat":"LD #26","p_event":"LD26","p_time":"1367281020","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":null,"us_name":null,"us_username":null,"event_start":"1366934400","event_key":"16","event_name":"LD26"},"text":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=20698\">http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=20698<\/a><\/p>\n <p><img alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/mYgtXer.png\" \/><\/p>\n <p>hey folks, drGsus and i just submitted our first game jam project, called <em><strong>TimeVOID<\/strong><\/em>. it&#8217;s a simple little atmospheric platformer where obstacles are created as you move, and you must travel through each level to escape <strong>The Void<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <p>G did all of the programming in <strong>Unity<\/strong>, and i took care of the art assets. the sprites and animations were all made in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.humanbalance.net\/gale\/us\/\">GraphicsGale<\/a> (i highly recommend it (i also don&#8217;t because it&#8217;s a strangely buggy program)), and the music was composed in <strong>FL Studio 10<\/strong>, using a studio arrangement i prepared ahead of time for my audio side-project, <a href=\"http:\/\/soundcloud.com\/solarinception\">solar inception<\/a>.<\/p>\n <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n <p>the game itself is still pretty unfinished, a lot of hangups decided to rear their ugly faces while we were getting ready (G got sick, then\u00a0<strong>i<\/strong>\u00a0got sick, and now i&#8217;m still sick, (god bless herbal teas and cold medicine though)), as well as some of the more intricate plans of the game being a little too much for our limited time. we originally planned a lot more levels and a more pattern-like progression system, shifting between calm puzzles and intense escape scenes, but we had to put it on the burner if we wanted to submit to LD26 in time.<\/p>\n <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n <p>despite the hangups, we are really proud of what we managed to make in 3 short days. we&#8217;re looking forward to the next jam, but we&#8217;re looking even\u00a0<em>more<\/em> forward to continuing our projects we were working on before. we&#8217;ll talk about those soon.<\/p>\n <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n <p>anyways, give\u00a0<em><strong>TimeVOID<\/strong><\/em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>a try!<\/p>\n <p>&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/DHE_alphasix\">@DHE_alphasix<\/a><\/p>","time":"April 29th, 2013 7:17 pm","title":"TimeVOID [tech demo] \u2013 part of the LD26 game jam"}
