{"author_name":"NeuronFire","cat":"LD #26","comments":[],"epoch":1367196600,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"43417","p_author":"NeuronFire","p_authorkey":"20654","p_urlkey":"79055","p_title":"DONE!!!","p_cat":"LD #26","p_event":"LD26","p_time":"1367196600","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"20654","us_name":"NeuronFire","us_username":"neuronfire","event_start":"1366934400","event_key":"16","event_name":"LD26"},"text":"<p>Wow&#8230; That was a lot of fun! \u00a0I got a reasonable amount of sleep, but still ended getting stuck in a &#8220;depth first&#8221; trap on both Saturday and Sunday. \u00a0Sunday&#8217;s involved a mechanic of removing dead branches if the user clicked on them. \u00a0I spent a couple of hours trying to refactor enough code to get it to work, and ended up only with better looking code, without any extra functionality.<\/p>\n <p>Saturday was a similar issue, I spent way too long monkeying about with branch construction rules and how the state of the board should be represented given perlinspiel&#8217;s constraints.<\/p>\n <p>I&#8217;m really happy with the way BONSAI turned out and I&#8217;m glad that I switched to Perlinspiel from ImpactJS. \u00a0I still really like ImpactJS, but the constraint of a 32&#215;32 grid for the game really focused my efforts on the theme at hand.<\/p>\n <p>If anyone wants to check out the backlog for the game, I&#8217;ve left the pivotal tracker page for this project open:<\/p>\n <p>https:\/\/www.pivotaltracker.com\/s\/projects\/814143<\/p>\n <p>Anyways, We&#8217;re all tired! \u00a0So congrats to everyone who entered! \u00a0Get some rest and enjoy a week or three playing with the entries! \u00a0You&#8217;ve earned it!<\/p>\n <p>NF<\/p>","time":"April 28th, 2013 7:50 pm","title":"DONE!!!"}
