Well it looks like I’ve already achieved my main goal of having something playable. Now, to work on making it interesting!<\/p>\n

While thinking about minimalism, Pong came to mind, and I wondered, “How could Pong be even simpler?” My answer was: One paddle.<\/p>\n

The game that I’m calling “Starhook” has evolved from there. The “hook” (see what I did there?) is that a new star shows up every 5 seconds. The more you can keep on screen, the higher your “Most # Of Stars” goes. So far, I think my highest is 5, and that might have been with slightly different settings. At the moment, different sized screens will also have differently sized paddles and play areas, so… take “Max stars” with a grain of salt.<\/p>\n

Now, aside from adding all of the fun stuff I have in mind (and fixing the occasional collision bug), I hope to actually participate in the LD48 community a little bit. I’ve been getting pretty absorbed in code and haven’t stopped to look around and\/or help others very much. We’ll see!<\/p>\n
