It was an experience similar to LD: 48 hours to make a game. And I feel like I’m completely prepared to LD! Here is a post-mortem:

What went right:

Idea. IMHO it was great (thought not very original) and it was just for the 48 hours.

Graphics. I was able to use NO graphic editors! Ta-da! Instead I made graphics with a built-in semi-graphic editor. Sounds like a plan for LD!~

Music. Boom-tss-boom-tss-boomboomboomboomboom-tss! Boom-tss-boom-tss-boomboomboomboomboom-tss!

What went wrong:

Time. I was able to make only 4 levels by the deadline, and there were bugs and missing features (mostly interface-related).

Timelapse. For some reason Chronolapse didn’t make a timelapse (after several hours of making). Even the one I just downloaded.

What I learned:

Saving and loading data.

Using the built-it graphic editor. It’s a great choice for graphics (for a not-artist like me).

Tags: postmortem, warmup

December 10th, 2012 8:11 am
Post-mortem (…what???)"}
