{"author_name":"dalbinblue","cat":"LD #25","comments":[],"epoch":1355115060,"likes":1,"metadata":{"p_key":"50837","p_author":"dalbinblue","p_authorkey":"13960","p_urlkey":"86530","p_title":"99% Sure I am in","p_cat":"LD #25","p_event":"LD25","p_time":"1355115060","p_likes":"1","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"13960","us_name":"dalbinblue","us_username":"\/author\/dalbinblue\/","event_start":"1355443200","event_key":"14","event_name":"LD25"},"text":"<p>Hopefully going for a second dare in a row. \u00a0The last one was my first attempt, and I had such a blast, so I&#8217;m really hoping I don&#8217;t have to work the weekend, but as it looks now I should be in good shape to compete.<\/p>\n <p>My tools of the trade haven&#8217;t really changed much from the last competition, and are as follows:<\/p>\n <p><strong>Programming:<\/strong>\u00a0Visual Studio, C# using XNA 4.0<\/p>\n <p><strong>Graphics:<\/strong>\u00a0NES style (likely) using Paint.NET<\/p>\n <p><strong>Sound:<\/strong>\u00a0SFXR, FamiTracker, Audacity<\/p>\n <p><strong>Misc:<\/strong>\u00a0Tiled, Chronolapse<\/p>\n <p><strong>Base Code:<\/strong> <a href=\"\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/87314864\/BaseCode20121210.zip\">Get it here<\/a>. \u00a0This is a slight update from the version I used in the previous competition. \u00a0The only major addition was very based tiled based collision map code to make it easier to do collision with the level. \u00a0This was something I struggled with in the previous competition so it made sense to solve the problem before it happened.<\/p>\n <p><strong>Font:\u00a0<\/strong>For any text display, I will likely be using a free font \u00a0from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.proggyfonts.com\/\">http:\/\/www.proggyfonts.com\/<\/a>, specifically Proggy Square. \u00a0I have converted it to a spritefont (PNG) for use in XNA (both full size, and something that fits in 8\u00d78). \u00a0The original font and converted formats can be downloaded\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/87314864\/ProggySquare.zip\">Here<\/a>.<\/p>\n <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n <p>Additionally, I put together a new warm up game since I hadn&#8217;t really done much in the lines of game programming since the last competition (other than the base code update). \u00a0It&#8217;s a sequel to the first warm up game I did, and is probably a little more than I should have one for a warm up game (spent about 7 hours on it). \u00a0If you have a moment, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-25-warmup\/?action=preview&amp;uid=13960\"> give it a try<\/a>.
