EvoProbe: Progress Report (after 5 hours)
So far so good, I’ve done the core game mechanics. Cells are now possible to place on the planet, they do match together when 3 cells of the same type are placed nearby, turns are being counted, and the score is updated everytime you match a set of cells.
I didn’t done any game art so far, decided to focus on the mechanics first. At this point the game looks like this:
Not very impressive
I think that the most challenging part for me is to make art, and especially sounds & music. I’m going to dedicade the whole day tomorrow for this. Before I start with art I need to add all the parts of the game I consider required so I need what elements I do need to place to the screens.
Next steps for today:
- Planet map
- Save game progress to local storage in browser
- Write storyline
I’m logging all the progress with Toggl to be able to track total time spent on the different parts. I spent 5 hours so far, including time to write all progress reports.
