Hi there, folks!

My name is Dan and this will be my first time participating in the Dare. While LD23 was happening, I attended the Manchester Game Jam and participated in three shorter jams which resulted in three very different games:

  • Corgi Rider – A side-scrolling jumping game where you play as the Queen as she rides one of her Corgis through the palace (Developed in XNA)
  • Gnome Patrol – A Plants vs. Zombies-esque game where various bugs are trying to get to the flowers. You have to place Gnomes down to stop them (Developed in Game Maker)
  • Duck Nukem – A 3D shooter developed in Unity. You can throw bricks at ducks, or use your flamethrower to make them nice and crispy. (Developed in Unity)

I’ve also developed some other games in my time. This weekend I’ll be using Flash, which I’ve not used for a long time, so I’m currently on an Actionscript 3.0 crash-course to get prepared. There’s a chance I might also use Photoshop for graphics, and most likely I’ll be using a mix of Anvil Studio, FL Studio and Audacity for audio related purposes.

Hey! Wasn’t expecting to see the Manchester jam on here. You guys are going to have to pull out all the stops to beat Duck Nukem!

Unfortunately I won’t be attending this weekend but I think the rest of the Salford Uni guys will be there. If I encounter any issues though I’ll be in touch. :)
