First time!
This will be the first time i am participating in the Ludum Dare.
But i have got a question, wich competition is best for a the first time.
For now I think it is the Jam but i am not sure.
Jam or Compo?

Compo is much better, is a challenge to do art and code alone, also much more people does compo instead of jam

My first time was in the compo. I finished my game, didn’t get bad scores (didn’t get good scores either, just average). But I really enjoyed myself, mainly because of the 48h limit. I was really pushing it and that was big fun. I don’t think I would have had as much fun as I did if I joined the jam.

I don’t know really. I did the Compo the first time (LD23) and got a score from ca.420th to 790th place out of 1402 games. But: Want to challenge yourself and test your speed skills? Choose the Compo. Want to relax and make a better game? Choose the Jam. The choice is yours 馃槈

I did the Jam with a friend the first time (LD21), it helped me get a feel for the competition and really helped my programming skills. Next LD I did the compo, and let me tell you: *that* was fun. You weren’t relying on anyone other than yourself, and the time crunch (which normally I hate, I was surprised by this when I did it that I actually liked it) was a huge driving force.
