Anything to help get the low-end stuff out of the way is perfectly legal.","spam":"N"}],"epoch":1345353180,"likes":1,"metadata":{"p_key":"55283","p_author":"dalbinblue","p_authorkey":"13960","p_urlkey":"91001","p_title":"I am In!","p_cat":"LD #24","p_event":"LD24","p_time":"1345353180","p_likes":"1","p_comments":"1","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"13960","us_name":"dalbinblue","us_username":"\/author\/dalbinblue\/","event_start":"1345766400","event_key":"12","event_name":"LD24"},"text":"<p>As with many others, this is my first time in the Ludum Dare competition. \u00a0My hope is to actually complete a game project as I have started many but finished few (read: almost none). \u00a0I really hopeful, as already this competition has me pumped up with excitement.<\/p>\n <p><strong>Programming:<\/strong> Visual Studio, C# using XNA 4.0<\/p>\n <p><strong>Graphics:<\/strong> NES style (likely) using Paint.NET<\/p>\n <p><strong>Sound:<\/strong> SFXR, FamiTracker, Audacity<\/p>\n <p><strong>Misc:<\/strong> Tiled, Chronolapse<\/p>\n <p><strong>Base Code:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/87314864\/BaseCode.zip\">Get it Here<\/a>. \u00a0The code is mostly cobbled together from a few past incomplete projects; it contains code for loading Tiled XML files and a custom spritesheet data. \u00a0A basic sound manager, sprite and tile map rendering, getting controller state. \u00a0Also included is a very quick and dirty tool (with source) for building sprite sheets with animations and collision bounds the custom spritesheet data format.<\/p>\n <p><strong>Font: <\/strong>For any text display, I will likely be using a free font \u00a0from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.proggyfonts.com\/\">http:\/\/www.proggyfonts.com\/<\/a>, specifically Proggy Square. \u00a0I have converted it to a spritefont (PNG) for use in XNA (both full size, and something that fits in 8&#215;8). \u00a0The original font and converted formats can be downloaded <a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/u\/87314864\/ProggySquare.zip\">Here<\/a>. I believe the rules let you use free fonts, but I&#8217;m not sure if they can converted to the format of choice prior to the competition. If possible let me know in comments.
