{"author_name":"Chris Zamanillo","cat":"LD #23","comments":[],"epoch":1334972880,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"58390","p_author":"Chris Zamanillo","p_authorkey":"1121","p_urlkey":"94139","p_title":"Tiny Space Faring","p_cat":"LD #23","p_event":"LD23","p_time":"1334972880","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"1121","us_name":"Chris Zamanillo","us_username":"icenine","event_start":"1334880000","event_key":"10","event_name":"LD23"},"text":"<p>I had several lame ideas come to me and was stuck so I went to the gym. \u00a0Sure enough I came up with something I&#8217;d enjoy working on and fits with the theme to some extent.<\/p>\n <p>Basically it&#8217;s a Freelancer type game set in an open space of tiny planets.<\/p>\n <ul>\n <li>Each tiny planet has a dock coming out of it (which will rotate, naturally) that you can dock at and get missions, trade, upgrade your ship, etc.<\/li>\n <li>You have to watch where you fire your weapons or you can accidentally (or not?) attack a planet and make its people aggressive towards you, perhaps also causing them to send their ships at you.<\/li>\n <li>You can get trading missions from planets or wait for some planet to hail you to ask for assistance.<\/li>\n <li>Random encounters with enemy fleets.<\/li>\n <li>Some areas of the open space will be guarded by tougher baddies that you&#8217;ll need upgrades against.<\/li>\n <li>Bunch of other tiny (lulz) ideas that I won&#8217;t bother listing.<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n <p>This would normally be an ambitious jam project for me but I&#8217;m using the theme as an excuse to use very small and low detail art (while still maintaining some style of course). \u00a0More time for coding all this crazy crap.<\/p>\n <p>I&#8217;ll post updates like I usually do, but for now here&#8217;s an earlier hipstergram picture of my fuel:<\/p>\n <p><img class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/distilleryimage5.instagram.com\/68ba5d3e8b4b11e1ab011231381052c0_7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"367\" height=\"367\" \/><\/p>","time":"April 20th, 2012 8:48 pm","title":"Tiny Space Faring"}
