Hello there you beautiful person, are you in, because I’m so in!

I’ve watched Ludum Dare unfold before, but haven’t had the confidence and/or time to participate.  I will change that this LD and submit a game for the competition, or the jam if things fall apart.  My goal isn’t just to create a game, but to make it fun and try and come up with something unqiue.  To me Ludum Dare is about stepping outside of your comfort zone and coming up with something new.  If it doesn’t work out, so what!

The themes that interest me most are indirect control, and the others which I clump together into one group in my mind, minimalism, one room and tiny world.  I think any of those could create some interesting games, though I have no idea what I would make for any of those themes as of yet.

If I go the 3D route (unlikely) I will be using java and LWJGL, and if if go with a 2D game of some sort I will be using plain old java.  Either way I will make both an applet and a downloadable executable to make playing the game as easy as possible.  As for graphics, I am NOT an artist.  I will be using whichever of the various options strikes me as the one I want to use, either gimp, paint.net, or lovely ms paint.  Best case scenario I will be able to randomly generate most of the content.

If I don’t encounter any technical difficulties and it doesn’t stress me out too much I will be streaming my progress live at twitch.tv/ghillieLEAD.
