It’s true that you can have a good game with simple graphics, but a good game with good graphics is better than a good game with bad graphics

I agree. A few lackluster games with excellent graphics are getting praised disproportionately to some very good, creative games without impressive art.

I guess a good part of LD members are coders, i.e. they are more easily impressed by professional-level graphics than high quality coding/game design/contents.

Playability and fun wins over graphics, but that is why graphics gets it’s own voting category.

This is the first time I did not use any graphics, I drew in polygons.
