{"author_name":"njmcode","cat":"MiniLD","comments":[],"epoch":1327147620,"likes":3,"metadata":{"p_key":"59901","p_author":"njmcode","p_authorkey":"9985","p_urlkey":"95653","p_title":"MiniLD #31 \u2013 Suddenly A Newbie","p_cat":"MiniLD","p_event":"LD22","p_time":"1327147620","p_likes":"3","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"9985","us_name":"njmcode","us_username":"njmcode","event_start":"1323993600","event_key":"8","event_name":"LD22"},"text":"<p>So I&#8217;m entering a LD compo for the very first time &#8211; <a title=\"Mini LD #31 : \u201cFear\u201d \u2013 January 21st \u2013 22nd\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/2012\/01\/03\/mini-ld-31-fear-january-21st-22nd\/\">Mini LD#31<\/a>, &#8216;Fear&#8217;, hosted by my distinguished associate TheGrieve. \u00a0This should be fun. \u00a0And by &#8216;fun&#8217;, I mean &#8216;humbling and embarrassing&#8217;.<\/p>\n <p>My entry will be browser-based, and built for the latest versions with WebGL + Canvas support. \u00a0 I&#8217;ll be working with the following base code:<\/p>\n <ul>\n <li><a href=\"http:\/\/html5boilerplate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">HTML5 Boilerplate<\/a> &#8211; for a nice stable base to build the game hosting page on<\/li>\n <li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mrdoob\/three.js\/\" target=\"_blank\">Three.js<\/a> &#8211; for WebGL rendering<\/li>\n <li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/sole\/tween.js\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tween.js<\/a> + requestAnimationFrame.js &#8211; for movement animation<\/li>\n <li><a href=\"http:\/\/jquery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">jQuery<\/a> &#8211; for the UI stuff<\/li>\n <li>my own partial Javascript port of the Python <a href=\"http:\/\/doryen.eptalys.net\/libtcod\/\" target=\"_blank\">libtcod<\/a> library &#8211; for procedural map \u00a0generation and management<\/li>\n <li>a HTML5 audio API wrapper of some description<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n <p>I&#8217;ll also be busting out GiMP, FLStudio, and whatever else I need to get this going. \u00a0If I can get it going at all.<\/p>\n <p>Happy developing, everyone!<\/p>","time":"January 21st, 2012 7:07 am","title":"MiniLD #31 \u2013 Suddenly A Newbie"}
