{"author_name":"wgemigh","cat":"LD #22","comments":[],"epoch":1324256460,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"60468","p_author":"wgemigh","p_authorkey":"8239","p_urlkey":"96221","p_title":"But You Wake Alone!","p_cat":"LD #22","p_event":"LD22","p_time":"1324256460","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"8239","us_name":"wgemigh","us_username":"wgemigh","event_start":"1323993600","event_key":"8","event_name":"LD22"},"text":"<p>All right! \u00a0My first Ludum Dare is over and I feel fine. \u00a0I figure that excluding sleep and other prior engagements (but including some last-minute coding that didn&#8217;t pan out), I spent 24 hours working on <em>But You Wake Alone<\/em>. \u00a0I had the idea early on and stuck with really simple graphics, so I had a playable version early on Saturday and spent the rest of the day tweaking gameplay. \u00a0It went to some weird places by Saturday night but with same late-night tweaking I was pretty happy with it.<\/p>\n <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n <p>Sunday was all about polish: sound, a splash page an intro, a little more content, an end screen. \u00a0I have two more features that I wanted to add, but they&#8217;re not necessary. \u00a0I should even have cut off the features about an hour ahead of time, because trying to debug a feature in the last ten minutes was pretty stressful and ultimately unsuccessful.<\/p>\n <p>I tried to keep the game reasonably abstract although I have a definite story in mind. \u00a0Other people who played came up with their own stories that were also very cool.<\/p>\n <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n <p>You can check the game out here:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-22\/?action=preview&amp;uid=8239\">http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-22\/?action=preview&amp;uid=8239<\/a><\/p>\n <p><img src=\"http:\/\/www.studiocypher.com\/wp-content\/ld22\/title_screen.png\" \/><\/p>","time":"December 18th, 2011 8:01 pm","title":"But You Wake Alone!"}
