I don’t know where to take the game from here… Help?
So we got the basic engine going. Cool.
But we don’t know where to take the game from here. We can’t see how it would fit the “alone” theme very well and we can’t think of anything fun at the moment.
Here’s a screeny:

So at the moment, you’re a little robot that can run around, jump and shoot sideways and up and down.
There are 5 different weapon types, each with different properties.
At first we thought we would take this in a direction of “last robot on earth” but we lost interest pretty fast.
So now we’ve got this engine lying around, and we don’t know what to do with it.
Help?

I thought the “last robot on earth” idea was pretty good. Maybe all the other robots were turned off and then all the humans died, and you have to wake up all the robots, so robots will replace humans or something. Still…

How about he returns home and no-one is there, so he has to work out why he is alone? Or maybe he crash lands on a planet, and is all alone, by himself? Enemies could still be there, but he’d be “alone” in the sense that he has no little robot friends D:

I’d say you just have to be creative, and you definitely don’t need to have the game revolve entirely around the theme. Maybe you could have the story relate to the theme, and the gameplay might not so much?
