So the theme of my first Ludum Dare is alone. \u00a0I, like many consider my self more of a programmer than an artist. \u00a0In fact, like many programmers I consider art to be a foreign and strange land which has very little connection to me. \u00a0I can’t draw.<\/p>\n

The problem is that alone is a very atmospheric theme at first brush. \u00a0Isolation, a mood of silence and\u00a0melancholy. \u00a0These tend to require at least some artistic chops. \u00a0I have decided to take a different route. \u00a0In my game the player will take control of everything. \u00a0Their characters, the enemies. \u00a0The player is truly alone, there are only game rules and not even an ai though it is a single player game. \u00a0However, there is another element to fit the theme. \u00a0Despite controlling multiple characters who need to work together if any of the characters enter the same room… they DIE!<\/p>\n

They must support each other from afar, never coming together. \u00a0They are working as a team. \u00a0They are combining their skills. \u00a0But they are…. Alone.<\/p>\n

And here is some of the artwork. \u00a0I’m using Alchemy to create highly stylised graphics. \u00a0That way the fact that I can’t draw doesn’t matter as much.<\/p>\n
