{"author_name":"sparkes","cat":"LD  #18 - Enemies as Weapons - 2010","comments":[],"epoch":1282314060,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"70200","p_author":"sparkes","p_authorkey":"508541","p_urlkey":"106020","p_title":"O go on then.","p_cat":"LD  #18 - Enemies as Weapons - 2010","p_event":"LD18","p_time":"1282314060","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"508541","us_name":"sparkes","us_username":"sparkes","event_start":"1282262400","event_key":"4","event_name":"LD18"},"text":"<p>Hello, I&#8217;m Steve and I&#8217;m a gamemaker.<\/p>\n <p>Been planning on doing a Ludum Dare since, errrm, forever but real life or naked over ambition always gets in the way.\u00a0 I know lots of the competitors of past compo&#8217;s from the Retro Remakes and general indie scenes.<\/p>\n <p>This time around I&#8217;ve decided I can spare at least 10-15 hours over the weekend around family commitments so I&#8217;m going to knock something together.<\/p>\n <p>As I have the beginnings of a cross-platform game engine written in C++\/OpenGL but it&#8217;s not in a shareable state I&#8217;m going to default to my basic prototyping tool PyGame.\u00a0 All I can say it&#8217;s it&#8217;s a welcome relief from all the Objective-C I&#8217;ve been writing recently.<\/p>\n <p>So expect a simple game that runs equally badly on Windows\/Linux\/OSX.<\/p>\n <p>Language:\u00a0 Python<br \/>\n Libs: PyGame (and it&#8217;s prerequisites) with maybe Box2d<br \/>\n Software Tools: OSX, Windows XP, Adobe Fireworks (trial), SFXR\/CFXR, Audiacity, text editor.<\/p>\n <p>I have a few ideas for some of the themes but I&#8217;m totally at a loss for most of them.<\/p>\n <p>I&#8217;ll be tweeting my lack of progress as @steve_parkes and blogging on http:\/\/zx-81.com<\/p>","time":"August 20th, 2010 9:21 am","title":"O go on then."}
