You don&#8217;t rate a politician highly if their promises of hope are unrealistic. What theme caused Metagun to be created?","spam":"N"}],"epoch":1282259040,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"70246","p_author":"TenjouUtena","p_authorkey":"22","p_urlkey":"106066","p_title":"What will the Theme Be, a (sort of)statistical analysis","p_cat":"LD  #18 - Enemies as Weapons - 2010","p_event":"LD18","p_time":"1282259040","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"8","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"22","us_name":"TenjouUtena","us_username":"tenjouutena","event_start":"1282262400","event_key":"4","event_name":"LD18"},"text":"<p><em>Just to be fair, there are two LDs I couldn&#8217;t review cause I couldn&#8217;t find the initial round posts.<\/em><\/p>\n <p>So, if we review Ludum Dare voting since we have converted to the +1\/0\/-1 system, we see some trends:<\/p>\n <ul>\n <li>The winners are always one of the top two themes from a previous round.<\/li>\n <li>70% of them have been first place.<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n <p>So what does that mean for this time&#8230;<\/p>\n <p><span id=\"more-22446\"><\/span>Here are the two two themes in each of the rounds, ranked in order of score:<\/p>\n <ol>\n <li>[+58] Technology out of place in Time (Or Anachronism)\u00a0 (1st place Round 4)<\/li>\n <li>[+52] Enemies as Weapons (1st place Round 1)<\/li>\n <li>[+51] Cooperation (1st place Round 3)<\/li>\n <li>[+50] Evolution (2nd place Round 1)<\/li>\n <li>[+36] Rain (2nd place Round 3)<\/li>\n <li>[+32] Hidden Depths (2nd place Round 4)<\/li>\n <li>[+23] Claustrophobia (1st place Round 2)<\/li>\n <li>[+18] Cloning (2nd place Round 2)<\/li>\n <\/ol>\n <p>From this we can observe certain facts:<\/p>\n <ul>\n <li>About 300 or so people voted.\u00a0\u00a0 We will use this number for percentages.<\/li>\n <li>First off, obviously Round 2 sucked.\u00a0\u00a0 There were 3rd and 4th places in other rounds that outscored our two candidates from Round 2, so we can probably count them out.<\/li>\n <li>Evolution very often has a strong showing in the preliminary rounds, and then drops out at the end.\u00a0 Plus it is believed that the world might end if the Ludum Dare theme is Evolution<\/li>\n <li>If we discount Evolution, there&#8217;s a 15 point gap between 3rd and 5th.\u00a0 15 people is about 5% of the population, which would be a pretty big swing.<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n <p>From this, we can pretty safely predict that Anachronism, Cooperation, or Enemies as Weapons will come out on top.<\/p>","time":"August 19th, 2010 6:04 pm","title":"What will the Theme Be, a (sort of)statistical analysis"}
