First LD. Why not?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m Hume. I\u2019ve been working on a <a href=\"http:\/\/humespeaks.tumblr.com\">space game<\/a> since <a href=\"http:\/\/0x10c.com\">before it was cool<\/a>, and I\u2019m currently at a little bit of a loss because lots of other high-profile projects are using a lot of good ideas I wanted to use.<\/p>\n<p>I figured this would be the perfect way to clear my head, meet some cool people, and hone the under-appreciated art of cowboy coding.<\/p>\n<p>Since this is my first time, I expect to crash and burn, but I\u2019m really looking forward to seeing what everybody can create during brief interval of mass insanity.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Language: Java. I like typing a lot.<\/li>\n<li>Framework: LWJGL. I\u2019ll likely use a small resource library I cooked up, but I need to replace the borrowed PNG loader, so I\u2019ll have to post the library later on.<\/li>\n<li>Graphics: Wings3d, Photoshop CS5 and maybe a little Fireworks for that authentic late \u201990s feel.<\/li>\n<li>Music: Modplug Tracker, played back with JMonkeyEngine code. Yep. My sample library is probably tainted, so I\u2019ll use SFXR\/CFXR to make instruments. Quickly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course, all of the above assumes that the theme merits some kind of graphical treatment.\u00a0Or maybe I\u2019ll do a text adventure.<\/p>\n<p>&gt;ENTER LUDUM DARE<br\/>\nYou enter the Ludum Dare.<br\/>\nIt is dark.
