Introducing: Static
Hey all! I hope everything is going well for everyone so far; I’ve been coding like mad so far, and there’s still a lot more to go! I’d like to share my game idea as well as my recent progress:
Static is a game about chaos. Starting with a television screen full of static, the player uses different buttons on the remote to pause, fast-forward, rewind, and color different sections of the screen. With random static generating constantly, the player must choose when to pause which sections in order to create their masterpiece. This is a sandbox game with no particular goal other than exploring ideas, creativity, and the evolution of form from randomness.
So far, I’ve finally gotten the static to work with libGDX, and by lowering the rate of change, I’ve gotten the frame rate up to a consistent 30 FPS from 5. ![]()

It was delicious!!!
