It\u2019s a lot of fun, but also a lot tougher than expected since I like giving some useful feedback to each game\u2019s creator(s). Didn\u2019t succeed on all counts, but I think I did a pretty good job.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I guess I\u2019m not the first one doing this but I think I\u2019ll celebrate my 100 games mark with a little highlight reel of my favorite games so far!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>True Treasure of Kartoffelschloss<\/strong><br\/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=20884\">http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=20884<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone\" height=\"240\" src=\"\/data\/posts\/2013\/04\/cf7a01efd40d75ba993e111b04fa33c8.jpg\" width=\"360\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Of the 100 games I played, at least 5 of them had the \u201cyou lose an ability\/item after each level\u201d mechanic as the core minimalism thread in the game. This game executed it amazingly well. At first it looks like a decent platformer with bad wall jumping, but once you get through a few levels it becomes very deep and one of the funniest and most emotional games I\u2019ve played this LD.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Follow The Line<\/strong><br\/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=17883\">http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=17883<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone\" height=\"216\" src=\"\/data\/posts\/2013\/04\/3e5e3ac019f4051be6161731a373d6e1.png\" width=\"384\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Very simple and polished one-button game. Challenging and frustrating, just like a one-button game should be. It\u2019d probably make a very good mobile game.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Centroid<\/strong><br\/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=12606\">http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=12606<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone\" height=\"239\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/thumb\/6191344bcfba947024207e95c6691705.jpg\" width=\"360\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Puzzle game where you find the center of mass of a shape. I felt like I\u2019ve seen the idea before but nevertheless it\u2019s still damn original and the execution is great.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Be The Wind<\/strong><br\/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=22673\">http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=22673<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone\" height=\"170\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/thumb\/a7349c43d1aa927969deeef19fb8b84e.jpg\" width=\"369\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Not so much a game, more a fun little zen garden. You swoosh around, plant trees, make the\u00a0procedurally generated trees swoosh around, and smile.\u00a0Found this one on Reddit, actually.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gods Will Be Watching<\/strong><br\/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=11045\">http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=11045<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" class=\"alignnone\" height=\"245\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/thumb\/33e073e6afdafaab43f9a477aaf8e0d7.jpg\" width=\"362\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The gorgeous LucasArts adventure style graphics is the least impressive thing about this survival adventure. You are stranded on a planet and you have 30 days to get out. In the meantime you have to manage crew morale, food, fix a radio, and generally not get killed by one of the many things that want to kill you. It\u2019s reminiscent of Oregon Trail, if Oregon Trail involved decisions like \u201cshould I kill off the mom who is infected with a deadly alien virus so everyone else can eat her rations?\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, my Unity Player decided to completely crap out on me this last week, so I haven\u2019t played any of the Unity games yet. Hopefully I\u2019ll be able to do that soon because some of these Unity games look damn good!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-26\/?action=preview&amp;uid=22944\">Oh here have a shameless plug of my own game.<\/a> My favorite comment so far is that it\u2019s almost as mean as Super Hexagon. =)<\/p>","time":"April 30th, 2013 11:48 pm","title":"100 Games Later\u2026 Some Favorites\/Highlights!","title_was_empty":false}
