{"assets":[],"author_link":"author\/promotepolymorphism\/","author_name":"PromotePolymorphism","cat":"MiniLD #48","categories":["MiniLD #48"],"comments":[],"epoch":1388867940,"event":"LD48","likes":3,"metadata":{"p_key":"79934","p_author":"PromotePolymorphism","p_authorkey":"0","p_urlkey":"288944","p_title":"Preparing for my first LD","p_cat":"MiniLD #48","p_event":"LD28","p_time":"1388867940","p_likes":"3","p_comments":"0","p_status":"WAYBACK","us_key":null,"us_name":null,"us_username":null,"event_start":"1386892800","event_key":"20","event_name":"LD28"},"source_url":"2014\/01\/04\/preparing-for-my-first-ld\/","text":"<p>I\u2019ve been developing software for a while now.<br\/>\nWith my skills, I enjoy making games on the side.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m finally going to be making a game for a reason, to enter it in the MiniLD 48!<\/p>\n<p>I took the past two days to finish a game named \u201cThe Creeps\u201d I had sitting around, code gathering dust.<\/p>\n<p>(Note: I also make tend to my games from scratch with only standard language libraries\u00a0or my own hand made code library)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/TheCreepsPreview.png\"><img alt=\"TheCreepsPreview\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-327649\" height=\"226\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/TheCreepsPreview-300x226.png\" width=\"300\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The game is lacking a lot of the little features but the core gameplay is done.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/TheCreepsPreview2.png\"><img alt=\"TheCreepsPreview2\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-327653\" height=\"227\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/TheCreepsPreview2-300x227.png\" width=\"300\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The game is full of pixelated noise to add panic when being chased.<\/p>\n<p>Games are a big part of my life, now and as a kid. But, making games isn\u2019t what I want to do. Having taught myself computer programming, and basically everything \u00a0I can about computers, I realize there is a lot out there, and its all just as fun. So, making this, and doing the MiniLD has a different feel from creating IRC Chats, Screen Capture, Word Processing, you name it. I take pride in that I make everything on my own, so games involving art and sound are not the norm, but I\u2019m still gonna try..
