Swotch and pOp : Overview

LD31 has been my first LD / Game Jam ever. I was a bit skeptical at first because I had just discovered Löve2D a few days ago when LD31 started. Some things went better than expected, while some others not.


First of all, I had time to create two games instead of only one. I first had the idea of pOp, a local multiplayer game, but a lot of people told me not to develop such a game, because it would be harder to try than 1-player games.

So, I decided to develop Swotch, an intense arcade game, before digging into pOp. I didn’t know I would have time to make both, though.

 

So, what went right ?

-Two playable and finished products

-Lots of polishing compared to all of my other games

-Good feedback from people, this really motivates me !

And… What went wrong ?

-I didn’t manage to add online scores. It worked at first, but I decided to remove it because it would make the final version lag a lot.

-No AI in pOp. You can only play with other people for the moment.

 

I would like to get even more feedback from you, players, to help improving my games !

And… Last thing… I’m actually porting Swotch and pOp to iOS and Android.
