I\u2019m in!","p_cat":"LD #34","p_event":"LD34","p_time":"1449593280","p_likes":"5","p_comments":"0","p_status":"WAYBACK","us_key":null,"us_name":null,"us_username":null,"event_start":"1449792000","event_key":"31","event_name":"LD34"},"source_url":"2015\/12\/08\/ludum-dare-34-time-6-im-in\/","text":"<p>Hello everyone,<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m in for my 6th time! \u00a0I\u2019ve got a couple new fancy tools I\u2019d like to try out this time around, so we\u2019ll see how it goes. \u00a0For the most part, my toolset hasn\u2019t changed, but here\u2019s a rundown:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Html 5 Canvas \/ Javascript, using the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/phaser.io\/\">Phaser<\/a>\u00a0framework. \u00a0I\u2019ve also made a custom plugin for it since the last dare, <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Cudabear\/phaser-illuminated\">PhaserIlluminated<\/a>. \u00a0It\u2019s a 2D lighting engine for Phaser as it lacks the support for it. \u00a0Hopefully I can put it to good use!<\/li>\n<li>As always,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/getgimp.com\/lp\/index.php?pk=6542&amp;c=Getgimp_US_Broad\">Gimp<\/a>\u00a0for art. \u00a0Tried and true.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brashmonkey.com\/spriter.htm\">Spriter<\/a>\u00a0may be used if I decide to do something that\u2019s not pixel art. \u00a0I like how it makes fluid animation easy, but the trade off is it\u2019s not all that useful for pixel art styles where sprites change greatly between frames.<\/li>\n<li>I\u2019ve really been enjoying learning about music creation and making a few of my own songs. \u00a0So to continue growing in this area, I will be making another custom soundtrack this time around, using\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/online.boscaceoil.net\/#!\/\">Bosca Ceoil<\/a>, a simple music creation app created by Terry Cavanagh.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bfxr.net\/\">BFXR<\/a>\u00a0for random game sound generation. \u00a0Bleep bloop, bleep bloop!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sublimetext.com\/3\" target=\"_blank\">Sublime Text 3<\/a>\u00a0for code editing. \u00a0The text editor is mightier than the IDE.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Cudabear\/ld34\">GitHub<\/a>\u00a0for source control management, using a Ludum Dare template I created for use with Phaser. \u00a0To be in line with the rules, I\u2019ve hosted it <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Cudabear\/ldwrap\">here<\/a>. \u00a0Feel free to use it, if you wish! \u00a0It contains a rudimentary state management system and a preloader. \u00a0Just change the images around to whatever suits you. \u00a0I\u2019ve also added support for logging Google events! \u00a0I hope to get some useful information about how people are playing my game in the weeks following the dare.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cudascubby.com\">My own website<\/a>\u00a0to host the finished product. \u00a0Now completely redesigned!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/chronolapse\/\">Chronolapse<\/a>\u00a0for time lapse capture.
