I\u2019m not extremely comfortable\u00a0with pixel art, but I\u2019m used to painting in a traditional way, so I decided\u00a0to paint the backgrounds in high\u00a0resolution. I\u2019m using a custom painting tool that was originally designed for live-painting performances, it did the job well and fast.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Paint\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-528210\" height=\"212\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" src=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Paint-300x212.jpg\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Paint-300x212.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Paint-550x389.jpg 550w, http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Paint.jpg 1044w\" width=\"300\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Then came the problem of resizing, as you may know,\u00a0resizing down an image can be difficult if you want to keep a pixel-art feeling. You may use \u201cnearest filtering\u201d resizing, but it usually totally destroy the image. Or you may use \u201cbilinear filtering\u201d, but it result in a blurry image.
