My third jam!

It's lovely to see people getting set up for LD55 and sharing their workspace, tips and goals. I'm looking forward to riding the high of having a bunch of ideas and the passion to work towards a single goal together with everyone!!

MY GOALS FOR LUDUM DARE 55

  • make a finished game that's fully playable
  • preferably as a jam game, otherwise close to the jam deadline so people have the opportunity to still play my game
  • engage a little more with the community, i. e. join chill streams or whatever opportunity arises
  • write a postmortem (last LD I did write one but felt it was too unpolished/too late to post)
  • mind my physical & mental health! last LD I had a cold & this time around I'm just getting over one so the conditions never seem to be optimal, but I want to work with what I have and make sure I'm setting myself up to not crash after the jam. i.e. go outside, enjoy the sunshine, eat good meals and put aside some time of the day for a lowkey hobby, talking to friends, etc.
  • considering that I failed to familiarize myself with RPG Maker MV enough to feel comfortable using it and did absolutely no prep for this jam (hello fellow procrastinators) I want to keep the scope very small and simple and use whatever tools I'm comfortable with. I see the jam sort of as a sketchbook compared to a completed artwork -- you're free to just try out ideas and see whatever sticks.
  • after pretty bleak spins on the themes for LD53 and LD54 I want to use this Ludum Dare to make a lighthearted and healing sort of experience.
  • lastly, have fun!!!!!

Stuff I'll probably be using:

  • Super Videotome & Brackets as game engine & code editor
  • Clip Studio Paint for art and thumbnail
  • boscaceoil/rFXGen/audacity for audio
  • Obsidian for writing (absolutely not the best tool for this, but I love it and wrote my last game on it too)
