I'm doing Advent of Code this year. AOC is a daily holiday themed coding challenge. Every day at midnight UTC-5 (i.e. New York/Toronto time) a new puzzle is dropped. Each puzzle has 2 parts, and there's a global leaderboard of who completed the puzzles the fastest.

I'm using this as an excuse to practice TypeScript (see below) and Go. For the sake of the leaderboard I'm writing my entries in Typescript, then later porting my code to Go.
