Post-Mortem-Thing - His own small World
Here is my personal Post-Mortem about our game. - You can find it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/$20912
The theme was kind of "meh" so .... yeah. At the beginning I liked our game idea. In the middle I hated it absolutly and today, on the last day I had a positive feeling. I learned a lot, I had a lot of "practice" in creating pixelart stuff. And the game IDEA was really good in my head.
But at the end we had to cut off a lot of ideas. So there is just the real main mechanic in the game. We had a few graphical issues do deal with, but we didnt get into it. So there're graphical glitches in the game which is frustrating. But yeah ... There is the finished game with his main mechanic. Which means everything is ok at the end.
What was good: - timemanagment - finalized the main gameplay feature idea really quick - (for us) content creation was good and fast - there is music in there :D - teamwork was fantastic (as always I want to say) - we gained a lot of new experience
What went wrong: - inital game idea was to big / to much - underestimated the bunch of graphical content - graphical quality in general - there is no sound-effect :(
Overall: - we have to gain more experience about graphics overall (pixelart / shader stuff / button creation / maybe modelling etc.) - there're some topics in Unity to learn more about - that was the wrong type of game for us. We need more "german-typical" games :D - leveltransitions - next time we want some soundeffects in the game - hopefully a better theme (lol - why is he hoping for something like that :'D ) - get into particle-effects in Unity
And the main-overall-point-thingy-thing: Ludum Dare is always a bunch of fun. See you next time :)
