I had previously heard of the Ludum Dare from friends, but it seems I only ever heard about it either while in progress or after it was over. This time around I had the good fortune of hearing about the dare 2 days before. This was great but it also meant that I didn't schedule it for my weekend. I have two smallish children and prior obligations, including swimming class and a kids birthday party. At first I was thinking I wouldn't have anytime to participate and that I had no chance of putting together a complete game. Thankfully I decided to give it a whirl anyway and just have fun with it.
