Enough talks. Shoot the cat!

Hi, we're Demy and @fedoccio, two cat lovers from Russia, and we made this small Catstagram themed game about the Instagram cat's daily routine.

The previous post about the room structure you can find here: Catification is now.

Actually, we planned to make several types of the "jobs" cat can do, but quickly understood that we don't have enough time for them and decided to make at least one type of the "job" but finalize it properly.

Behold these gorgeous pose icons. That's what you get when you let your programmer (me) do the proxies

Btw, the "Struggle" animation at first was the default start animation, but I thought it's too awesome to not use it in the "The kitty is not in the mood" situation.

A bit of self-rant:

Of course, this scene is the main source of the mechanic understanding issues.

On the second Post-Mortem-ish thoughts, we should place the pose's key sequence on the picture of the wanted pose (top-left), and make the mechanics of it more transparent. It was copied from the Telltale's games Q-Q-Q-Q-W thing and we should really redesign its view the same way - the progress bar on the tile + flip at the end. Anyway, the flip of the tile works way better than (the progress of the Q key) with the Struggle option and players understand it way quicker than the Q-pressing sequence.

A small Easter egg

In the layers of the animation I found this: KEIg0RoivgU.jpg Thanks to @fedoccio I had a quite hysterical laugh. This view still could be found somewhere in the game .

Sounds :notes:

This scene has the most of the game sounds: background sound, sound of the win, sound of the failed pose, camera click.

All of the audio pieces were found on the freesounds.org and all of the references are in the game's description. As always, even though I know nothing about music and audio editing, this part of the game's design plays a big role in the "game's soul" creation.

Play it now!

Thank you for your time and have a good day!
