My third Ludum Dare is done and judging has begun! I went into this with a bunch of new things I wanted to try and I'm fairly satisfied with the result. \n\nFor starters...\n\n## New Software\n\n- Unity\n- Pyxel Edit\n\nYes yes, I know, I've been coding for a while now and never touched Unity. I'm not entirely sure why, but as I stick mostly to 2D games, I never saw it necessary. When looking for a job, however, that necessity changed very quick! And what better way to learn than Ludum Dare?\n\n## My Goals\n\n- Upload a game in 48 hours (duh!)\n- Make a re-playable game much like an app game\n\nI went into this Ludum Dare with my own personal sub-theme of \"try new things\". I wanted to try to make something akin to a game you would see on the app store or google play. \n\n## What I Learned\n\n- Basic Unity\n- **No lollygaggin'** (when you take a break to watch stupid youtube videos, time whizzes by!)\n- If you spend too much time being a perfectionist on one detail or aspect of your game (art, for example) other areas (such as scripting) suffer\n\n## So What Now?\n\nWhen I put it on my phone, it got a positive response from my peers. Therefore, I have decided to make it an app game much to no-one's surprise! I've been having fun putting this game together and fixing a lot of the hurried mistakes I made during the jam itself. \nThe planets now have better visual indicators for when they are dying:\n\n![5.PNG](\/\/\/raw\/766\/1\/z\/345b.png) \n**The gas planet now disappears in chunks and the fire planet cracks.**\n\nI also fixed the bug where a planet takes resources before it even visually needs any (but if you didn't notice that when you played, forget I said anything. There is no bug. Move along.)\n\nI will be adding leaderboards, updated menus and much more in later updates.
