Our plans to continue development of Chroma

Hey,
It is likely that the person who is currently reading this hasn't played our Ludum Dare game Chroma (in which the download will be at the bottom of the post) so I definitely recommend you give it a go before reading this. We are incredibly proud of Chroma, this game is a re-imagining of our Ludum Dare 37 game with all problems mentioned being fixed. Things such as poor level design, bland boss fights, dull environments has now been removed with this game.
Anyways, due to how much we enjoy working on this, and how proud we are of it, we have decided to turn this small prototype into a full game with up to 30 levels and an entire story. Once development on our currently already existing game Thermal Youngsters is finished we will completely move over to development on Chroma, adding new levels and features. The biggest flaw mentioned with this game was the poorly-implemented dash feature, which we do plan on improving. This was the first time I had ever programmed a dash move into a game so it was certainly good to hear so many people give me constructive feedback on it. Another mentioned flaw is the lack of character progression, which is certainly a problem. Throughout the entire game the only changes made to your character is the changing of weapons. In the post-jam game there will be several armors and collectibles that will make you as a player feel like you are growing stronger. We even considered that instead of the player starting out with the dash ability, there will be an armor that you collect that will give it to you.

In terms of more levels, we haven't planned out to much. We do know that there will be a set of levels for each moon, however we also want to add a bit more story elements to the game, without it just going from planet to planet. I have thought out the third level, I was thinking it could be some kind of giant cave set on the red planet, filled with blood bats and mazes. Overall we are excited for the future of this game, and we hope you try Chroma out if you haven't already...
