Idea

Our idea was to make a game where you are a boy who fights with his friends from the neighborhood. Also, we decided to do it in 2D. Our goal was to make simple but eye-catching arts that could fit our game.

Concept arts

The basic idea was to make a cute kid. @moono, as our 2D graphic, made some simple concepts.

To make the process of creation simple we've chosen kids not facing directly a right side.

Perfecting

The next step was coloring and giving some life to art. At first, we didn't think about coloring boys with random colors. With that in mind we developed this:

Below you can see another character made for the first prototype of the game.

In the middle of the event, we decided to give our boys some more colors. The idea behind it is simple. We desaturated characters' parts to make them gray and then, inside a Unity, gave a random tint color for those sprites.

Result

At the end, we are happy with the result. Our characters have some unique style and they are quite cool.
