I Built a Gadget That Thinks Before Acting ️
Just wrapped up my very first game jam! I went through several concepts before landing on signal latency.
The core mechanic revolves around a gadget that triggers devices, but here’s the twist: each one has a different delay. Success depends on mastering these timings to move forward.
I experimented with the visuals quite a bit—from a spy-themed aesthetic to the bright, minimalist style you see now. I think this "pop" look really suits the fun gameplay.
Being a solo dev with less than two days on the clock, I had to be smart with my time. I skipped complex 3D modeling to focus on the logic. Except for some music I had "in the drawer," everything was made during the jam.
This project might be small, but it’s been a massive source of inspiration. I can already see how this mechanic could scale with upgrades and environmental puzzles. Had a great time, and good luck to all the other participants! 😊 Gameplay:
