Knowing When to Pivot - Tiny Signal Lost

LD 59 was a whirlwind!

We spent the first 24 hours working on an idea about optimizing WiFi coverage in a house, with a whole room layout system... but we just couldn’t find the fun. No matter how much we tweaked it, it felt more like solving chores than playing a game.

At some point we had to make a call to keep pushing and hope it comes together, or cut our losses and try something new. So we decided to pivot to a puzzle platformer we had brainstormed the night before.

It was a huge risk to start over halfway through the jam, but the new concept clicked almost immediately. Using signal pulses to activate parts of the environment felt pretty satisfying, and we were able to build the rest of the game around that core.

In the end, pivoting was the right choice!
