We Passed Our LD59 Game Between 5 Devs With No Communication

Hey jammers!

For LD59 our team tried something a bit chaotic and wanted to share the result. Instead of working together normally, we did a no communication, pass‑the‑game challenge with 5 devs over the 72 hours. Each person got a small time slot, worked alone, and then passed the project to the next dev without any communication.

The Video

We recorded the whole process and turned it into a video:

If you’re curious about:

  • How the project changed every time it switched hands
  • How we tried to rescue “half‑baked” ideas from earlier shifts
  • What worked and what really didn’t with the no‑comms format

the video walks through each day and each person’s shift.

We decided to call it the Hot Potato Challenge! hotPotatoLogoSmall.png

We’d love to hear:

  • Whether you’d try a no‑communication format with your own team
  • Ideas on how to make this kind of “hot potato” jam format fair and fun
  • Any feedback on the game itself

Thanks for checking it out, and good luck with your own LD59 entries!
