Router Wilds - Hot Potato Challenge Results

Congrats everyone on finishing Ludum Dare 59 and thanks to everyone who played, rated and commented on entries!

Hot Potato Challenge

As some of you know, our team tried a little experiment this time: we did a “pass the game, no‑communication” challenge. Five devs, 72 hours, one project, and we weren’t allowed to talk about the game while the jam was running. Each person got a small time slot to work alone, then passed the project to the next dev, who could tweak, improve, or completely sabotage whatever was there.

We put together a video showing the whole process. What each dev did during their shift, how the game kept changing, and how we tried to glue everything back together at the end:

The Results

Considering how messy the challenge was, we’re really happy with how Router Wilds did in the results: Screenshot 2026-05-09 171729.png

We expected to lean more into theme/innovation, so seeing “Overall” and “Fun” also land in the top 150 was a really nice surprise. Huge thanks again to everyone who played, left feedback, or streamed the game. It helped a lot and made the challenge feel worth it.

If you’re curious about trying a similar “hot potato” format with your own team, or just want to see how chaotic a no‑comms jam run can get, we’d really appreciate you checking out the video and letting us know what you think.

Good job on LD59, and see you next jam!
