The word cutscene is used very loosely. Basically, after completing a level, there's a small animation as the next level unlocks.

And below is a sneak peak of level 3. It's sorta a difficulty spike from the previous two levels. May need some balancing, but it's definitely winnable.

And alas, I'm running on three hours sleep as it is and have another long day of work ahead of me. Gonna try to wake up an extra hour early, get some drawing in before work. And then stay up as late as I need to tomorrow night to get it done. Unfortunately, I am working past the final submission time on Monday, so I've gotta get this thing done by monday morning.
