Posterity post.
Am always amazed by what people manage to achieve in such a short space of time, especially with the 3D games!
Here’s all I’ve managed so far, it’s a hamster – trying to get home through the back garden.

How do you embed twitch clips?
Crunch time. In the meantime – here are some hamster sprites..
The stream is still live on the stream page. Need more coffee..

World of cheese – gather Hamster Kibble, then find a nice flat spot to eat it. I had planned to do a giant hamster head in the UI, with inflating cheeks the more you gathered, but ah… Time..
Featuring some retro wave style synth music.

Was making a random 'idle' platformer, but I bucked my usual habit of doing graphics / music first, and now I've hit a wall. Might be time to whip something up in the next 11 hours.. Maybe..

No idea why. An Adventure platformer..
Spent the first day sperging out on mechanics and lost the soul of the game.
Last 12 hours cramming to make something - music , gfx and a goal, this is what you get.
Old draft from Compo 38 ..
.
Not so great a start.

Have avoided looking at what other people are doing so far , and since my wacom is decommisioned , I broke out the felt tips for some brainstorming.
Aside from a major game breaking mistake in the final minute ( >1 instead >0 in a variable check) - it's a working game.

If I'd have had more time ( maybe another month ) , I'd have added more enemies and traditional platformer stuff.
The general premise was, the dwarf couldn't die by traditional means, but would 'die' when he lost all his gold.
Here's some of the sprites
Game is here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/goblin-castle
The more button is kinda slow. I remember someone ages ago made a browser that listed by type ( HTML 5 / Windows / Linux ) etc so it was easier to browse the games.
The more button is killing my left mouse button!

I added in a couple of the things I couldn't get done in time - mainly AI , the actual gold dropping mechanic, and the movement for the dwarf.

This were this morning's felt tip brainstorms

Went with Forest Wizard Ninja Ghost

Doing a generic spritesheet animation, to use on all enemy / player characters -- which will be painted over, but ensure hands/eyes etc are in same place to add lighting effects.

Probably wasted too much time playing around with effects last night / this morning - and not working on an actual game, but here's the transition. More is revealed the more red mushrooms you consume.

Think I forgot the theme half way through.
