JAM COMPLETE

[Congrats to all those that finished their games!]

Matt (Programming), Lytesander (Sounds and Music), a new comer to game jams Mr.Live (3D Models and Level Design), and I (3D models, animation, programming), all came together into a single force for justice. . . Okay maybe not for justice. But we came together to create: Turrim 3D!

A fast-paced, first-person slasher, done in a retro style. Full of sword swinging, enemy choppin, blood splattering, and heart eating fun. 3db30.gif

Turrim is a short game, since all of us kept putting off level design, we only have 3 proper levels, plus a tutorial. But on the up side, we've pact the game full of features, such as: Exploding barrels, Destructible objects, throwable rocks, and my favorite, tincans. 3db86.gif

Don't like blood? Camera swing make you nauseous? Are pixel games your greatest foe? Not to worry, you can change all, and much, much, more, except for sensitivity, cause we forgot about that - in the settings menu. 3db7e.gif

Sound like your cup of freshly gathered bread sticks? You can play the game Here.

You don't even have to download anything, cause we have a browser version!

New Cover Art

It took me awhile to do it, but I've finally finished Turrim 3D's official cover art!

Working on the Post-Jam update

I've been working on the post-jam update for Turrim.

Knocked out some bugs, did a little balancing, just improving it overall. I really want to polish this thing shiny, so if y'all have suggestions or feedback, be sure to let me know :D

You can find the game HERE. Turrim Gif.gif

Turrim 3D - A retro First-Person Slasher

In Turrim 3D, you are Trapped at the top of a mysterious, tower that defies the laws of physics. You must fight your way deeper and deeper into it's ominous pits, as you journey to the bottom. Sounds like a lowly stroll doesn't it. But it's not as nice as it seems, for the tower is far from empty. It is filled with the numerous cloaked figures of the keepers of the tower, all doing their very best to kill you. But you have a secrete weapon, your very obvious, very sharp, not so secrete, sword. Turrim Gif.gif Bash, hack, and slash your way through four hand-crafted levels (Yeah we ran out of time). Filled with lots of interesting items. Like tincans. Lots of tincans.

Here's a picture of a rock. Turrim Gif 3.gif Oh yeah, did I mention the explosions? We have explosions. We're just that epic.

Does this sound like something you'd like the sound of? Yeah. Awesome! You can play Turrim 3D Here

Brand New Menu

Turrim's Got a brand spanking new menu! Looking a lot better now.

Turrim 3D - Post Jam Update

Head Tilt Games teamed up with Mr. Live Studios to participate in Ludum Dare 48, and together, we created the most epic, the greatest, and the shortest thing you have ever seen: TURRIM 3D. A retro, first-person slasher, where you fight for your life like your life depends on it.

But believe it or not, it was far from perfect. So I've spent the last week or so polishing this baby up like a greased seal on a water slide. And like a greased seal on a water slide, it runs smoothly (I hope). But an update post wouldn't be an update post without a list to accompany it. Here are all the changes that I can remember doing.

  • Removed dash. It was pretty much useless, but it shall be missed.
  • Added Coyote time to jumps. No more falling over late jumps.
  • Added warning flash before enemy attacks. Now you know when to block that shot.
  • Polished menu with awesome animation, if I do say so myself.
  • Polished game over scene with even better animation.
  • Explosive Barrels are now throwable. I know, pretty epic.
  • Transitions. So now scene changes aren't so jarring.
  • Added sensitivity options. It is here! Finally!
  • Made the game harder. Apparently, it was too easy, which is a first.
  • Settings now save. No more having to go back and change them each time you open the game.
  • Health carries over to other levels. Enjoy!
  • Lots more bug fixes. Trust me bugs were squished'o plenty

Phew! I should probably start breathing now. Welp that's everything, I think. Either way, if this sounds like your cup of tea, then by golly grab it by the handle and gulp it down cause this game's free! And it comes with a browser playable version :D

That's all folks. Till next time. Goodnight and drop mic.

BEHOLD! The End.

Turrim Game Over.gif Only 6 hours left as of this writing. I wish all the very best as this jam comes to a close. There were so many great games this jam! But all good things must come to an end. At least until ludum dare 49!

I had a blast with this jam. Actually created something I'm proud of. People seemed to enjoyed it as well. I particularly enjoyed trying out a new style.

If anyone's interested in giving Turrim one finally try, before it is gone forever...Too much? Too much. Anyways, I had a lot of fun. I hope y'all had a lot of fun. Till next time!

Goodnight and drop mic.

Ludum Dare 50

I Will Not Die.

It's been a while since I last soloed ludum dare, so I ended up biting of a bit more than I could chew scope wise. But I did manage to make a "finished" game.

Without further ado, I present: I Will Not Die.

A (very) small metroidvania, where you must steal the life of other creatures to survive your constantly declining health. You must also find and unlock abilities to explore the many nooks and crannies of this world.
